Twin Rivers Customizes Publishing Papers to Target Religious Text Applications

Premium Hybrid and Freesheet Offering Delivers Value and Quality

Madawaska, ME, October 08, 2014 — /EPR MARKETING NEWS/ — Understanding the challenges facing religious publishers and printers, Twin Rivers Paper Company tailored a portfolio of lightweight Premium Hybrid and Freesheet papers to deliver value and quality for spiritual scripture, inspirational non-fiction and study guides.

“Whether it is paper cost, supply chain logistics, quality or ease of doing business, publishers and printers are being asked to do more for less in delivering evangelical materials around the world,” said Robert Hutchins, Product Manager. “As an experienced supplier, we know this market. For the last 20 years our Freesheet grades set industry standards while our Premium Hybrid papers are driving market innovation.”

With an 80+ year legacy of papermaking, Twin Rivers is one of the primary North American manufacturers of lightweight opaque Freesheet papers, a category widely used for scriptural applications because of strength and printability. Understanding the market need for options, Twin Rivers pioneered the Premium Hybrid category, formulated with the optimal blend of Groundwood and Freesheet fiber to deliver opacity, strength and value.

“Our Premium Hybrid papers have transformed other publishing markets like financial printing and reference. We know once religious publishers and printers become more familiar with our blended products they will appreciate the unique benefits of the offering. Premium Hybrid can translate into a significant advantage for a publisher,” added Hutchins. “Our papers provide options that support brand image while stretching budgets to expand reach.”

Core papers for religious text applications include Custom Brite® and Bridge Supreme®. Custom Brite is a Freesheet paper available in 22-40 lb. basis weights while Bridge Supreme is a Premium Hybrid paper available in 18-38 lb. basis weights, with added hybrid capability extending up to 40 lb. Both grades are designed for this technical application; optimizing readability, performance and aesthetics.

Additionally, Twin Rivers manufacturers a robust line of publishing papers that can be engineered to meet the needs of a wide array of applications. The company is known for its lightweight manufacturing flexibility, excellent service platforms and willingness to co-develop customized solutions. Paper characteristics including fiber furnish, bulk, basis weight and brightness drive a needs-based approach to paper selection.

SearchCatalyst Highlights Why Duplicate Web Content is Bad for Small Businesses

Duplicate web page content is bad for any website because it greatly affects SEO, but SearchCatalyst, an SEO agency dealing exclusively in small business Internet marketing, says it is particularly bad news for small businesses.

Aside from negatively impacting on a user’s online experience, duplicate content is particularly disastrous for SEO. It affects the site’s credibility, which is one of the most important ways a site can rank highly, organically, on search engines like Google. Google ranks sites based on several criteria, each of which is built into its complicated search algorithm. Relevancy is the most important – does the site list content relevant to the search query? – but credibility is a close second.

However, this issue affects all businesses, big and small. An issue that is more likely to affect small businesses, or expanding ones in the processes of upgrading their websites and online presence comes down to duplicate content on developer sites. Quite often web developer domains – where developers work on websites – are indexed by Google. Developers can be completely unaware they have created duplicate content but as websites take a few months to develop they can sit on developer domains for a while and the duplicate pages will negatively affect search rankings on Google.

This generally impacts small businesses to a greater extent than larger companies because they don’t have the scope and finances to implement new pages quickly.

Google’s algorithms are highly sophisticated and can filter out sites that have duplicate content. Some may be labelled as spam as a result, whilst others will just be listed much lower down on the SERPs. Google has become much better at detecting duplicate content since the Panda algorithm update, which all small businesses and developers should be aware of.

SearchCatalyst offers affordable SEO services to small businesses looking to boost organic search rankings and gain greater online exposure at minimal cost.

Letters To Santa Bring Joy To The Little Santa Letter Helpers

hildren everywhere send Letters to Santa during the holiday season. Santa regularly hears from children that live in Canada, the United States, Japan, Mexico, United Kingdom, and so many other places.

Because children come from different places and they are individuals with various wants and needs, each letter written to Santa is slightly different than the others he receives. Children that live in Hawaii often ask Santa for new swim gear and children that live in Canada are likely to ask for new sleds or snowboards. The point is, the letters written to Santa Claus are personalized to meet the needs and wants of the individual child writing the letter.

But even so, there are a few things that most children have in common as they write. First of all, most children want to insure that they are on Santa’s Nice list. This means that for some, they will be direct and ask; for others, they will simply explain away any naughty behavior. The second thing that most of these letters include is a list of toys and other gifts that the children would like to receive for Christmas. After all, they don’t want to be disappointed when Christmas morning arrives!

The third and final thing included in most letters written to Santa Claus is a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to Santa Claus and his helpers for the wonderful Christmases of years past. Those helpers most often mentioned are the elves and the reindeer. The reindeer are well aware of the appreciation felt for their services of flying Santa around the world on Christmas Eve because children often leave treats out for them to eat on that special night.

But when it comes to the little elves that work hard all year to insure that every toy asked for is delivered on time, these letters are the only way they find out how much the children value what they do. That’s why Santa and Mrs. Claus share these letters with the elves. Letters that mention the elves are some of the most special ones that Santa receives all year long.

When Santa letters mention the elves and an appreciation for their work it makes them realize just how important their role really is. Christmas could not be Christmas without the help of the elves. Many times Santa will write a special note to children which reminds them of all the hard work done by the elves, the reindeer, all the other animals at the North Pole. Santa knows that without their help he could not make Christmas as magical as it is. A Letter from Santa is only made possible because Santa has the time to write them – and he would not have that time available without the help of the elves.

Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus work hard to let all their helpers know just how appreciated they really are. In fact, Santa has a special holiday set aside just for his helpers – it’s a day that no work is done and everyone receives a special gift. Santa decorates the walls of his home with all the letters that include a special ‘Thank You’ for the elves, the reindeer, and the other helpers. Mrs. Claus cooks a delicious meal for the entire group and they eat, sing and dance all day. This is the way the helpers celebrate a job well done!

The Christmas Tree And Santa Letters From Santa Himself

Each year, the mouse family that lives in the wall in the big house looks forward to the holiday season. This is a special time of year for them. They decorate their home from top to bottom – even the hole in the wall gets trimmed out beautifully. After all, that hole is the door to the family home and they want it to be lovely to look at as well as welcoming. The fact is, when the weather is cold outside it is not unusual for homeless mouse or two to wander into the big house, looking for warmth and comfort.

Marty, one of the younger mice children, especially loves it when they have guests in their home. You see Marty is full of adventure and he sneaks out into the big house at every chance. He cannot wait to get big enough to go out alone into the real world. He wants to know what’s out there. So when a mouse that has been on the outside pays a visit Marty is thrilled. This is another opportunity to learn about the world that exists outside of the big house.

The only thing that compares to Marty’s love of adventure is his love for Christmas and all that goes with it. Marty believes that Santa Claus is the nicest person in the world. That’s why the little white mouse is so careful when he writes his Santa letter. He wants Santa to like him and keep him on Santa’s Nice List. Every year Marty looks forward to receiving personalized letters from santa, and this year is no different.

Marty was proud as could be to contribute all sorts of decorations. On a recent visit to the big house he had met a little girl named Hailei Corin, mailing out a santa letter. She was very nice and she gave Marty lots of great stuff to take back to his mouse house. Marty found that she had provided glitter, colorful bits of thread and ribbon, and buttons. Those items were the perfect trimmings for the mouse family’s Christmas tree. He just knew that story would insure that he would receive letters from santa each and every year!

Independently published books are filling a much-needed role as affordable gifts this year, but which ones should you buy?

Arbor Books (www.arborbooks.com), a backbone of the independent publishing movement for more than a decade, has compiled a list of some of its favorite titles to help consumers get right to the good stuff this holiday season.

“Our brief, suggested list is a fun way to highlight some of the best books produced by the independent presses we’ve worked with—and a way to help consumers sort through the thousands of titles released each year,” says Joel Hochman, co-founder of Arbor Books.

This year’s list includes children’s books, wealth-building books, personal memoirs and holiday specific titles, and covers the entire family when it comes to genre and reading-level. According to Mr. Hochman’s partner, Larry Leichman, “The whole family has something to look forward to on the list.”

The independent publishers on the recommended reading list for this holiday season hail from around the country. The authors come from around the world.

“The presses that Arbor Books works with are very special,” says Mr. Leichman. “As in the music, film, theater and art industries, these independents in the publishing field are forging a new path, making available works and titles that would not have been available to consumers otherwise, and we’re proud of each and every one of them.”

Below is the list of Arbor Books’ picks for the best of the holiday season:

1. Santa’s Secret Emergency Service by Claudia de Silva is a delightful book that explores what might happen if Santa Claus couldn’t deliver his presents. A touching story that turns parents into heroes, this story is great for the whole family.

2. Who Is Pee Dee? Explaining Parkinson’s Disease to a Child by Kay Mixson Jenkins seeks to help children understand a disease that affects one in every 100 people over the age of sixty in the United States. With colorful illustrations, the book follows a boy named Colt and his toy panda bear named Pee Dee as they learn about this chronic disease.

3. NYPD Blue Lies: The Shocking True Story of Racism, Corruption, Cover-Ups and Murder in the NYPD by Charles Castro is a gripping story of life in the NYPD as told by a veteran of the force and an activist fighting racism among the city’s finest.

4. The Secrets of Money: A Guide for Everyone on Practical Financial Literacy by Braun Mincher is a guide to managing and investing money that eschews the get-rich-quick ideas of most titles in this genre. With detailed discussions of topics ranging from first-time home buying to car purchasing, Mincher has it all covered.

5. Dafka—In Spite Of, by Magda Watts, tells the heroic, autobiographical story of a young Hungarian girl who survives the terrors of Auschwitz to become a thriving artist.

All of these books are available on
Amazon.com, where millions of holiday shoppers are searching for just the right book to give to a friend, spouse or relative. Mr. Hochman says that he believes these titles are a good start.

“As the country begins a period of economic and spiritual renewal, it’s a pleasure to be a part of a movement of small presses and independent publishers,” he says. “The people in this field, with their optimism and vision, are the future of publishing as they break the stranglehold of the larger, traditional publishing houses. We’re proud of each and every one of them.”

Arbor Books (www.arborbooks.com), a mainstay of the independent publishing movement throughout the world, is a provider of ghostwriting, editing, self-publishing and marketing services to individuals, corporations and independent presses.
