Bigmouthmedia’s Norwegian Team Has Won The 2009 Gulltaggen Award For Best Search Strategy Of The Year

Unveiled as the winner at a prestigious ceremony in Oslo, bigmouthmedia Norway was awarded the region’s most prominent SEO prize for its work promoting the education site Sonans.no. Judges praised the company for mounting a campaign that exploited a full range of online marketing techniques.

“We’re honoured to receive this award. While bigmouthmedia Norway has enjoyed a lot of success internationally, we haven’t been as visible as we would like to be on our home turf. It’s therefore great to finally be able to show everyone what we’re made of”, said Freddy Aursø, Managing Director of bigmouthmedia’s Nordic offices.

He continued, “Winning this award proves that ethical search engine optimisation works. By designing a strategy utilizing organic search, paid search and a variety of other digital marketing techniques we have seen great results throughout the entire campaign.”

Founded in 1999, over the last decade the Gulltaggen Awards have become recognised as Norway’s most important digital marketing industry prizes. This year’s event took place over two days in Oslo, with a daytime conference followed by an evening ceremony honouring the companies and individuals that the judging panel hailed as “the new heroes of digital creativity”.

The award for best search strategy is a new category, and bigmouthmedia’s integrated SEO and PPC campaign for Sonans Education made the company its inaugural winners.

The DVLA’s Campaign To Increase Use Of Its Online Services Has Received The Bigmouthmedia Marketing Strategy Of The Year At The European Business Awards

Presented at a gala ceremony and luncheon in Rome, the award recognised the DVLA’s unprecedented use of commercial tactics to promote a government service. Judges praised the agency for an innovative and successful campaign, which included giving away free low-emission cars in an online lottery.

“The DVLA’s campaign caught the public imagination and drove a massive increase in traffic to their site. It’s a classic example of how a blend of clear strategy, creativity and thinking outside the box can really deliver results,” said David Hardy, International Sales and Marketing Director at bigmouthmedia.

The DVLA managed to nudge ahead of some very stiff competition to collect the prize, with campaigns from the UK based First ScotRail, IDE Group, LMG and Sony Europe, Optivo GmbH and UNICEF Arbeitsgruppe from Germany, Polish institution Bank Pekao SA, Graphisoft R&D zrt. from Budapest and France’s Société Générale all being nominated in this hotly contested category.

“The standard of entries was particularly high this year. Whittling them down to the final few nominations was hard enough, but in the end it was incredibly difficult to choose just one winner,” said Hardy.

Presented with the award in front of an audience of business leaders and influential figures within the European community, the DVLA emerged as one of the big winners amongst the ninety-nine organisations nominated for the awards, which recognises excellence and innovation in European enterprise.

With a combined turnover of €573billion, the ninety-nine Ruban d’Honneur winners seem to buck the economic trend. According to statistics gathered by the European Business Awards, this year’s nominees recorded an average annual profit growth of 56%.

“These awards were founded to recognise excellence in business, and the DVLA’s radical approach has justly seen them named as one of this year’s successes. Their campaign not only broke new ground for a public sector organisation but also achieved excellent results, and that is why we were delighted to reward their strategy by naming them winners of the 2009 bigmouthmedia Marketing Strategy of the Year Award,” said Adrian Tripp, Chief Executive of the European Business Awards.

Bigmouthmedia signs up for Comic Relief 2009

Marking the continuation of a partnership that has been underway for eight years, bigmouthmedia will again be responsible for boosting online awareness of the appeal and increasing search engine traffic to the Comic Relief site.

British Airways has announced that bigmouthmedia will continue in its role as the airlines search agency

Following on from six years working alongside Europe’s largest independent digital marketing agency, British Airways cited bigmouthmedia’s industry-leading expertise as a critical factor in deciding to renew the deal. In extending the successful partnership that began in 2002, British Airways has confirmed thatbigmouthmedia will help plan, implement and manage its paid and organic search strategies.

Working together with the airline’s digital marketing team to drive their Search Engine Optimisation, and PPC strategies, the agency will be responsible for developing and executing both the company’s paid search and organic campaigns across the UK market.

Bigmouthmedia’s current contract was due to expire at the end of September 2008 and as part of the airline’s standard procurement policy, a re-pitch was launched at the beginning of August 2008.
